The closing date for the Essex Poetry Festival Open Poetry Competition is the 30th of July. The first prize is £1,000. Winners and runners-up will be invited to read their winning poems at the festival. Prize winning poems will be published on their website.
The poems may be up to 40 lines and on any subject and must be the poet’s own unpublished work. The entry fee is £6 per poem or £20 for 5 poems.
