Creative Writing Ink Poetry Prize 2023

The Creative Writing Ink Poetry Prize 2023 is open for entries from December 2, 2022!

The deadline for receipt of all entries is March 31, 2023 at 4pm (GMT).

Entries will only be accepted through Submittable.

Entries can be on any subject, theme or genre.

Entry fee: €6 for first entry, €5 for each subsequent entry. You can submit multiple entries as long as each entry is paid for individually and includes a separate entry form.

Poems must not exceed 42 lines.

All entries are judged anonymously. Please do not include your name, address, phone number, email, website, social media details, etc. on the poem document or in the file name as this will result in disqualification.

Formatting your poem:

Your poem must be written in English. A maximum of 42 lines. No minimum. Title not included in the line count.

Please submit a typed poem in Arial or Times New Roman, 12pt, black. Double spaced.

Include a front page which details the title of poem and the line count ONLY. The author’s name should not be included anywhere in the document or the file name.

No illustrations.

Save as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx). We also accept file types .rtf, .pdf, with the

Poem title as the file name. Please do not include the author’s name in the file name or it will be disqualified.

Originally from the Midlands, based in South Dublin, Casey’s poetry is widely published in anthologies by Dedalus, New Island, Faber & Faber, The Nordic Irish Studies Journal, Jelly Bucket (USA), Orbis (UK), PigHog Press (UK), Abridged, The Ulster Tatler Literary Review, Poetry Ireland Review, The Stinging Fly, among
others. ‘Bog Treasure’, Casey’s sixth collection (Arlen House, 2021) is a collaborative work with Canadian poet/visual artist and academic, Jeanne Cannizzo.

A Hennessy winner (fiction) she is also a recipient of a Patrick and Katherine Kavanagh Fellowship, among other awards. She holds an M.A. Creative Writing (Distinction), The School of English, Oscar Wilde House, Trinity College, Dublin.
