The Limnisa Short Story Competition 2026 is open for entries.

Submission Guidelines

• The theme is “On This Land” by Mahmoud Darwish
• Open to anyone (16 or older) worldwide
• Accepting short stories between 500 and 1,500 words

Judges:  published authors, a publisher’s editor, and a cross-section of general readers.

Entry fee: one story is €10 and three stories is €25

Prizes:

• First prize: one week’s Writers’ Retreat in 2026 or 2027 at Limnisa, their seaside location near Agios Georgios, Methana, Greece
• Second and third prize: each winner will receive 50% off a stay at one of the writing retreats
• Fourth and fifth prize: each winner will receive 25% off a retreat of their choice
