The Wild Atlantic Words short story competition is open for submissions.

Submission Guidelines

• Stories must be less than 3,000 words.
• Open to writers over 18 years of age who are Irish or resident in Ireland.
• ONE entry per entrant.
• Entries must be original and previously unpublished.

Judge: Eimear McBride, author of A Girl is a Half-formed Thing, The Lesser Bohemians, Strange Hotel, and The City Changes Its Face. 

Entry fee: €10

Prizes: 1st prize is €500, 2nd prize is €250.

Deadline: 31st July 2025 at 5 pm.
