Bloody Scotland are looking for new crime writers from around the world.
Submit short stories (max 3,000 words) on the theme “Escape”. They’re looking for work that is crime-themed. The competition closes on July 31st. It costs £10 to enter.
Prizes: The winner will receive a £1,000 cash prize, a weekend pass to Scotland’s International Crime Writing festival (which takes place in September in Stirling, Scotland) and a bottle of Deanston whisky. The winning entry will also be published as an ebook short by Bloody Scotland.
Two runners up will receive a bottle of Deanston whisky and a selection of tickets for events at the festival.
The judges include representatives from the University of Stirling and crime writers Alex Gray, Craig Robertson and Gordon Brown. They will judge the entries and announce a shortlist. This shortlist will then be open for a public vote on the Bloody Scotland website.
