Darina Allen’s Ballymaloe Cookery School, a creative haven for lovers of food and fresh produce in Co. Cork, is the proud sponsor of the Ballymaloe International Poetry Prize, launched in association with The Moth.
The Prize is open to everyone, as long as the work is original and previously unpublished. The entry fee is €6 per poem (or €7.50 if you’re paying by money order)
The prize will be judged by Leontia Flynn, winner of the Forward Prize for Best First Collection and a Rooney Prize for Irish Literature, and named one of twenty ‘Next Generation’ poets by the Poetry Book Society. The three winners will be invited to read at a special award ceremony at Ballymaloe
Cookery School in Co. Cork, Ireland, in March 2013, and their poems will feature in the spring 2013 issue of The Moth.
