The Wells Festival of Literature Writing Competition has three categories, poetry, short story and crime novel.
Poetry – up to 40 lines
Short stories – 1,000-2,000 words.
Crime Novel – send the first chapter (no more than 3,000 words) and a synopsis (500-1,000 words)
The competition closes on the 31st of July 2014.
The prizes in each category are: £500, £200 and £100.
In the crime novel category, the winning entry will also be read by a publisher and literary agent.
It costs £10 to enter in the crime novel category and £5 in the poetry and short story section.
