The Greenhouse Funny Prize is now open and closes on June 30th 2014.
Unagented writers resident in Europe and the Commonwealth (excluding Canada) are eligible.
Send picture books, middle grade, teen and YA stories. They say: “Make us feel funny – whether that’s smiling with delight or splitting our sides laughing.”
You should send the complete book (or as much of it as you have written) but definitely the first chapter. Also send a one-page synopsis. They will be judging the prize on the first chapter only, the exception being picture book texts, where they need to see the entire text. Do not send any illustrations.
The winner will receive an offer of representation by the Greenhouse agency. Two runners up will receive a selection of children’s books chosen by the judging panel.
The Children’s Editorial team at Faber & Faber Ltd and Polly Nolan at the Greenhouse Literary Agency will judge the competition entries.
