CRITIQUE SERVICE

Creative Writing Ink provides a critique service for short stories, poems, books and screenplays.

Our authors will read your work objectively and provide a full critical assessment of your manuscript.

How much does it cost?

(a) Poetry; €60 for critique of up to 3 poems

(b) Short stories/children’s fiction; €55 for critique of short story (maximum 3,000 words)

(c) Short stories/children’s fiction; €75 (3,000-5,000 words)

(d) Short Stories/children’s fiction; €100 (up to 10,000 words)

(e) Submission Package
If you have written a novel and would like feedback on your first three chapters before you send them off to a publisher, there are two options available;

Package 1;
First Three Chapters, Synopsis and Query Letter Evaluation; with suggestions for improvement and general feedback – €€95

Package 2
First Three Chapters, Synopsis and Query Letter Evaluation and Line Edit; with suggestions for improvement AND line by line editing.
Synopsis, query letter and manuscript up to 20,000 words  €€150
Synopsis, query letter and manuscript between 20,000 and 35,000 words €250

How do I pay?

Payment can be made with a credit card through paypal or by cheque. Please email us at info@creativewriting.ie if you wish to pay by paypal and we will forward you the payment details.

What is a critique?

The report will aim to provide the following;

Comment on narrative, characterisation, plot, pace, dialogue, style and manuscript faults along with suggestions as to how this may be remedied.

Please note that if you are looking for a proofreading edit, this is a different service. Please see our Proofreading section for further details.

How do I submit my manuscript?

• We will acknowledge receipt of your manuscript by email.
• Please contact us before you send us your manuscript if you are unsure whether our service would be right for you or if you have any other queries.
• For payment details, please see above
• We reserve the right to return your work and payment if we are unable to place it with a suitable author/editor.
• We cannot guarantee the length of time a report will take, but will do our utmost to ensure that the report arrives within three weeks.
• We are unable to provide a report unless we receive the appropriate fee with the manuscript.
• All correspondence will be treated with the strictest confidence.

-  Website design; Our designers can design and host a website for you, to help you promote yourself to publishers and agents effectively. These websites are based on templates specifically designed for authors.

In addition to being a published author, India has worked as a professional web designer for ten years, taking on freelance projects as well as corporate design with Coljam Consultants Ltd, a UK based consultancy firm.
